My wife and children and I are leaving tomorrow for a 3 day visit with my parents, 4 hours drive away. I'm packing my camera bag and thought I'd show you what's in it. What does your camera bag carry when you go off on a few day's trip?

photo later when I get home, but typically:
M6 TTL with 35 'cron and CV 90/3.5; Rollei 35; table tripod & cable release; blower brush; spare batteries; film.

That does look familiar. M6 with a couple lenses and a Yashicamat fit really nice in my bag.

Frank, do you find you actually use the 'cord much? I find that carrying different formats doesn't work for me - I tend to have my mind locked into one way of thinking. of course, that's just me.....

In my small shoulder bag is my Kiev 5, SC Skopar 35/2.5, Jupiter 8nb 50/2, Jupiter 9 85/2, & Zeiss Sonnar 135/4; it's my everyday grab bag and it's usually all I take (prior to the Kiev 5 arriving that would be Kiev 4a with a collapsible Sonnar 50/2). If it's for a really long trip, I'd throw the Iskra in as well. Then the usual assortment of accessories, filters and as much film as I can cram into the nooks and crannies of the bag as well.

Tim, I do use the 'cord when the photo op is fairly static and calls for max detail, as in a weathered barn for example. The waist level viewing is also called for at times when raising a camera to your eye is not desired. These are 3 different cameras for different purposes. The Hexar is loaded with 800 speed Fuji colour neg film and it's for indoor snapshots mainly although I'm not afraid to use it outside on a sunny day and simply overexpose the film.

Depends on the end destination (city or woods?). But typically: Nikon N80, FE2, Olympus SP, lenses, flashes (2), film (lots), Sekonic lightmeter and the Bogen tripod - all in the Lowepro Magnum AW.

My M5s need red dots!
Ha! I have two bags!
For short outings, a Domke bag with one Leica and three lenses, film, lens cleaning paper, spare batteries and a pen. I may carry my grip too...
For longer than a few days, I pack my two Leicas in a LowePro bag with film, lenses, flash, tabletop tripod, remote cable, spare batteries, lens cleaning paper and the Leica grip. And lots of film!
Needless to say, my Domke is the grab bag, and my 35, 50 and 90 see a lot of campus too.

P. S. That's the RF stuff and sees the most use. Alpas are in a Bellingham bag and a Pelican case; Rollei SL66 gear is in another Pelican case. I also make use of a converted back pack for hiking. I had two Domke "OutPacks" on two different occasions -- tried real hard to like/use them both times, and to each his own because they may work for some, but I couldn't warm up to them and prefer my homemade pack instead.

"Big outfit": Crumpler Ben's Pizza XL with Bessa R3A with Summicron 2/50, Bessa-T with CV4/25, CV 2.5/75, sometimes CV 3.5/90, viewfinders for 25/50/75mm, some rolls of Tri-X.
"Small outfit": Same bag but one of my Hexar AF with 2 ND filters instead of the Bessa-T and its finders. Alltogether the bag does not have more than 2.6kg.
But everything may change, when my M3 comes back from Solms...

Bag?
I usually take one camera with one lens, and stuff a few rolls of film in my pocket. Pukupi has a nice simple kit too!

I've ordered a Safrotto bag through the forum. When out shooting, I will probably stuff it with my Yashicamat and some Nikon gear: most likely my trusty beat up old F (from '65) with a 20 and one of my 50's. Now I still use my smallish Lowepro bag: the 'Mat and a GSN fit snugly together. Oh, and ofcourse I'll always have my Stylus Epic.

Depends on where I'm going & how long:
Nature:
Mamiya 645 Super w/ 35, 70 and 150mm lenses, two film backs; maybe the Horizon 202.
City:
Bessa R & L w/ 25, 35, 50 and 90mm lenses, maybe the Pentax MX with color film and 50/1.7.
Family & friends (trips not focussed on photography):
Pentax MZ5n w/ 28-105mm zoom and color film, and some fixed lens rangefinder (or the Bessa R & 35mm) w/ B&W film.
The Oly XA is usually in a jacket pocket, and often on any occasion, the Iskra might be taken along as well.

My current set up in a Crumpler Budgie Smuggler contains-
Bessa R
CV 35mm Pancake I
Leica 50mm 'cron
Leica 90mm Elmar
A Canonet QL17 of one favlour or another
A yellow filter for each lens
Tripod Adapter
Haminex CX333 Flash
Cable release
Bean Bag Frog (better than a table-top tripod IMHO)
Lens hoods for the 35mm and 50mm
Swiss army knife
Cleaning gear
Four LR44s
Montecristo in a tube
And several rolls of film.
The Bessa R is normally armed with Fuji Neopan 400 and the Canonet has something different and exciting like Kodak infrared, TMax 3200 or Velvia that's going to be cross processed.
However within a months time the entire rig will be different. Bar the Montecristo
