I was out early this morning to photograph some snow scenes. Hit a Starbucks on the way to the parks and had a Grande Mild. Tonight we'll have burritos and I'll open a tall Kilkenny.

The Glenlivet. Over ice (made from filtered water). Despite the purified ice, I know I that have sinned and that the Brits&Scots will never forgive me.

The horror, the horror.

But, at least, the Mexican border's only five miles away.

Ran out of the Glenlivet, so switched to Napoleon Brandy. Whilst imbibing I'm restoring (I hope) the leather on a Rolleiflex TLR camera case. First I used SAS creme shoe polish for the scuff marks (just happened to be the right shade of brown), and am now applying Brooks saddle preservative, ordinarily used on Brooks bicycle saddles, but why not on a camera case?

No offense, Ted, but you can upgrade from The Glenlivet. For an inexpensive single malt that will put Glenlivet to shame, try Speyburn. Usually available in the $16 range, minus a $3 rebate. For an adventure, try Laphroaig 10 year. It will grab your throat and might give up in a bit ... maybe.

I've got the same as last night, a "Pamela Anderson Special". Thank you, Poptart, for that mental image, now forever associated with my personal mix.

Ted, I'm drinking Glenlivet, with just a splash.

I don't think a little water ever hurt a decent single malt. Matter of fact, I was at a vertical scotch tasting last year and the Glenmorangie rep (in a kilt!) had us add some water to almost all of the single malt whiskey he had us tasting. Vertical scotch tasting means going up in years of age eg, 6, 8, 12, 18, 25

Just a diet sprite.

It's Sunday night and we are still up at the house. Little snow here but much in NYC closed down trains for a while today. So have to commute in the AM and that means getting up at 4:50AM! 😱
