What's on your wishlist?

My current wishlist looks like this:

50mm Planar
50mm Nokton 1.1
35mm Nokton
35mm C-Biogon 2.8
21mm Biogon 2.8
75mm Summilux

That oughta do for now... ;)

After having borrowed a friend's Rolleiflex for the weekend, I'd have to say I really want one. Quiet, unobtrusive and composing on that square waist-level finder is just lovely.

Practical want: an EF 24mm/f2.8 for my Canon EOS SLRs. I'm also thinking about an EF 85mm/f1.8 but don't know if I'd use it enough.

Plausible "if only" wish: the new Voightlander 667 folder.

Impossible dreams include the M9 (and why not an MP and an S2 system while I'm at it) along with all those mansions, cars, jets, yachts and supermodels...

...Mike

My wish-list? A triple-bypass, then time to enjoy the rest of life making pictures.

Pico - down to his high school track weight and loving that part!

1- the possibility to buy stuff abroad without being completely ripped off by gear dealers, customs, etc in my country
2- a large batch of film :D
3- minolta cle
4- mamiya6 (but i'd gladly shoot a 645 before deserving the 6)

To try some of the Rollei Retro films and finally get my hands on some Rodinal. Luxembourg shops offer neither, so monochrom.com here I come!

An M9 or two would be nice....and a couple of Summilux lenses.....a Magnum membership....... and world peace, of course.

:p

Really and truly there is nothing photographic that I need. A black Nikon SP or S3 would be nice, but it's just an affectation that I really can live without at the price it would cost to get one.
About the only lens I lack (but again, don't really need) is a CV 25 f4 in Nikon s mount, and I suppose, one of these days, I'll break down, send Gandy the money and get one.

Ability to let myself take time out to go shooting.

I'm terrible at spending money (and stepping away from work). Aside from visiting my in-laws a few times, I haven't taken vacation in the last 9 years. My wife tried to arrange something - to send me to New York for a few days to just walk around and have fun shooting - and I just couldn't do it.

Gah. Stupid broken brain.

I have or have had half that, and wouldn't want most of the other half. I also have (or have had) a lot of much more interesting things that aren't on your list: Alpa MF, a 12x15 inch Gandolfi, an 8x10 inch monorail, various Robots, several Linhofs, most Leicas. And you know what? It hasn't made me a better photographer, or made me enjoy photography more except perhaps fleetingly.

Cheers,

R.

more gear hasn't done either of those things for me, either. it's just been a matter of being able to do various sorts of things in various ways.

and some of the things on my list are just for kicks, like the leica iiif and contax iia.

not the most usable, but classic designs!
Not really. The Leica IIIf is a b*stardized IIIc, an intermediate step to the IIIg, and the Contax IIa is not really much of an advance on the II, apart from being slightly smaller, slightly newer (and therefore probably more reliable), and slightly more advanced. Personally I'd rather have an original fixed-lens Leica than the IIIf. And yes, I've had both.

Cheers,

R.
