What's your 2014 1 camera, 1 lens setup?

Pentax MX and 28/3.5 Pentax-M. Just for a change from rangefinders.

Incidentally, there's no logical reason why I should prefer it to my OM1n and 50/1.8 - the bodies are much the same - but perhaps it's that MX shutter release that seems to be so well-synchronised with my picture-taking reflexes that taking a picture becomes one single action that ends with that precise and perfectly defined clunk.

On the other hand it might be because in the 1970s and later I spent many many happy years just with a screw-mount Pentax SP1000 and a 28/3.5 Super Takumar, using Tri-X and Kodachrome 25, occasionally using a Super Takumar 55/2.0. It was all I needed then, and perhaps it's all I need now.

This is it.

I always start with great intentions but my ADHD personality seems to get in the way. I worked for 20 years with my K1000 and M50/2 but since I started picking up other cameras I can't seem to stay with only one for very long.

But, my Christmas present to myself this year was a Leica Null Series replica. I have really been enjoying the enforced change of pace so I am going to start the year using the Leica O. The lens choice is pre-determined.

I am going to work with ISO 400 film since the 3.5 maximum aperture on one end, and the 12 minimum on the other with the Anistigmat provides big limitations. I have a lot of Arista EDU Ultra on hand as well as some Tri-X. I also have a lot of EK XX which is very flexible and can easily be used between ISO 200 and 800.

As usual I have too many choices.

Wow Johan, Looks Fab....Stellar Combo, Enjoy !!

Thanks Helen, it's the combo my admirers do the most admiring from 😛
Ricoh GXR-M with VF-2 viewfinder, a Leitz LTM -> M adapter, Voigtländer Heliar 2.0/50mm nickel lens.

Tack sharp high-key, high-contrast portraits, it's close to a signature look, I'd say...

Sold more stuff today, in line with my 2014 resolutions of clearing shelves, to end up in the new year with:

M4-P - 50mm - f/1.2 for film and
M9 - 35mm - f/2 for digital.

(secretly keeping the 28mm elmarit asph hidden in my pocket though... for those moment.)

Making a push for M9 and 50mm Elmar-M.

I did just this for a lot of 2013. Great combination in every way. I won't be sticking to just this in 2014 though. Maggie's C Biogon 35 is a strong option for me too, and there's no way my stealth black MM and tabbed Summicron will sit on the shelf. Or even my Rolleiflex. I like Pioneer's plan with the Leica 0.
