What's your day job?

I'm a student majoring in philosophy but at the moment I'm working at a (swiss) bank. The things we do to fund our gear... :D

IMO, more interesting than generic categories are the the specific job titles that people have offered so far. Let's get even more specific (maybe a separate thread?) For example, today I spent 3 hrs photographing high school-age members of a community-based, grass roots organization that campaigns for quality education, fair treatment of immigrants, etc. The kids were conducting surveys. The photos will be used in their fundraising yearbook.

Ok. I'm a TV news reporter. Just don't tell my parents, please.

I make my living in a ski town by shooting the mountain lifestyle. That said, I am starting to travel more on assignments..

Chief Cat Herder (aka Program Manager/Independant IT Consultant)

Hoping to become an amateur dry cleaner if I get to retire

My Navy job was alot more exciting, I fueled aircraft on the flight deck of a U.S. warship while floating around the Persian Gulf. But that was many years back. Come to think of it, my job of driving a taxi around Atlanta Ga. was more interesting than that! Especially when I would pick up nurses comming off 2nd shift and change clothes in the back seat to go to work at their 3rd shift job down Buford Hwy. at the strip club. Wish I had my camera back then:) Now I drive a bulk lubricants truck. Not near as exciting.

Presently a security executive for a real estate investment trust.

Prior to that, I spent a couple of years as an Assistant Director of Security at a luxury hotel. Fun job where I got to meet a lot of interesting people, including more movie stars and heads of state than you can shake a stick at. Vicious soul-sucking office politics though.

Makes perfect sense for an art school dropout with a B.A. in history...
