What's your personal holy grail camera?

Any black body Canon rangefinder, but preferably a black L1. I have been lucky to get the Leica M bodies that were my Holy Grail cameras, so the black L1 stands out now.

In descending order from least likely to most.
Contaflex TLR, M8, Nikon SP (black),, Canon 5D.

Covers the full gamut, as far as I'm concerned.
Film, digital, RF, SLR, TLR, old, new, chrome, black, user-friendly, and decidedly not.

Don't know yet ... I'll tell when I find out ... first step is to hold an Leica M body
in my hands ... for couple of minutes at start ... to feel the taste :)

When I first sarted out in photography, it was a Nikon slr. Later on it was a Hasselblad. Then it was a Leica. How about you?

Two kind of grail here: the one I cannot afford and that I cannot find.

In the first group put...almost anything: top end (D)SLR, top end digital and film RF, digital backs, lights equipment, a real studio, models, the possibility to travel anyway any time of the year... All-right not interesting, maybe that is just another way of saying "I would like not having to worry about money".

In the second group I would put a first series Nikon F (fabric curtain), an OM-3Ti and a Nikon F3 Titanium...

I am not sure what "holy grail" exactly means, but I can speak about the first camera I bought.

According to my budget then my attention was fixed on two models displayed at the shop vitrine. One had a window (viewfinder) to look at the subject. It was a Canonet QL=17, not GIII.

The other has no window at all but a strange triangle shape on top. I asked the seller how do you identify the subject you are shooting at with such a camera, and the seller told me there is a mirror inside.

Too complicated for me, I thought, and picked up the Canonet.

Cheers,
Ruben

physiognomy - are you here ? I thought we have lost you

To be honest I'm not sure I can pick my 'grail' camera... I've been lucky enough to pick up more than one camera I never dreamed I'd own, so I should count my lucky stars.

Still here Ruben :) Lurking mostly as I don't have any time for my cameras... Things will change soon & I'll be able to participate here at RFF more to my liking.
