Whats your travel setup?

I took two vacations this year both driving only.

Spring break I took a Fuji Instax neo 90, Instax wide, and a Sigma DP2M. Also I used my iPhone 5. I put together a travel diary with the Instax prints which was really nice.

Summer trip to Acadia Park I took Fuji X30 and a holga.

If I was flying I would just take a digital cam and leave the film at home.

Well, I am back. We spent time in Minsk and also traveled. The only lens I used this trip was the 50/3.5. Now to get it developed.

Changed my mind! After seeing what can be done with the 50/3.5 RD Elmar by Erik von Straten and others I decided to take my IIIf with the Elmar and a VC 28/3.5. I want to enjoy the trip and not concentrate on photography.

Headed to Minsk on Sunday. My 7th trip.

I seem to be settled (for the moment) on two LTM bodies (Leica IIIc and/or Canon L1 and/or Canon P) with 25/50/100mm lenses, enough B&W film not to worry about running out, and probably a few rolls of color just in case. To that I'll add either my Voigtländer Perkeo II (or possibly a TLR if I'm driving and don't have to worry about packing space considerations as much) or Fuji X-E1 w/LTM adapter; these are both primarily for color.

I carry very little gear, but it's different every time. Last trip I took a 5D2 with 24-105, previous trip an M6 with 35 and 50.

For the last couple of years, my travel setup was my Leica M4-P, Voigtländer 35mm f/2.5 and as much Tri-X as I thought I needed (generally a roll for every 2-3 days). Over the years I added a light meter to replace my iPhone, and a B+W yellow filter. My wife would carry her Olympus E-PM2 with the kit zoom and the Panny 20mm, as well as an additional battery and a 2Gb SD card.
This year, I wanted to try something new and also brought T-Max 100 and 400 films, of which I shot two rolls each.
I was a DSLR shooter once, but when we were on vacation in denmark a couple of years ago, I forgot the smaller bag at home and noticed that i simply couldn't carry my rig in its full size camera bag anymore, especially when we were on bycicle trips. I had to use my little canonet and brought back some really nice pictures from that vacation on b/w film.
Every now and then, when I want to take a colour photo, I borough my wife's camera.
Looking forward to this years pictures!

Greetongs, Klaus.

Going on vacation in a few weeks.
Taking the XE1 + 18mm + 18-55zoom + Domke bag.
*Maybe* leave the zoom home and bring the 27mm instead.

Rolleiflex FX-N or FW. Or both. One day, one year, same deal (except bring more film for a year). Sometimes shoot Horseman SW612 instead.

I used to take my NEX 5n and 111f with elmar or summar & summaron 35mm

Now i take a NEX 6 16-50mm & 16mm sony. An M2 with 40mm sumicron Elmar 90mm collapsable 50mm Nokton f1.5 50mm,50mm Summita collapable (with adapter) Skopar 21mm & Heliar 15mm

When i compare the Leica with my Olymupus om2n its about the same size but the lenses take up far more space than the Leitz Voigtlander

Traveling on business to France, UK, and Sweden. Very little time for photography on this trip, debated what to bring, and I am simply taking Sony RX100 iV. Oh that I would have time to use the Monochrom...

If traveling by auto for U.S. landscape, the D800e and all my Nikon lenses. (ya never know....)

If traveling by air, train and/or bus, U.S. or Europe:
Fuji X-E2, with 12mm, 35mm and 18-55mm lenses
Fuji X100s
6 Xanax pills. :)

btw, two of my "Nikon" lenses say "Sigma." (50 1.4 and 150 macro)

One camera. With either a zoom or prime. Never both. Never more than that on my own time.
Simplifies things.

Sometimes I like the combination film+digital. In this case is my (father's) Rollei plus my now more than 4 years old Leica X1. I can have slow iso film and use the digital for interiors where higher iso are needed.
Light meter, moleskine, extra batteries, cards and films of course...

Your travel set looks very practically put together, Robert. I like it.
When we met in Tuscany, I had my SWC and the M9 and E-P2. I took two or three rolls of 120 film with the SWC, and all other photography was done digitally.I should have left behind the E-P2.
