Whatever
Vince, I hope the Artist in Residence position comes around for you. It's definitely on my list to visit my friends in New Mexico and maybe visit Hatch during the green chile harvest too.
Many thanks - right now all systems are go, and I'll hopefully be printing as well as exhibiting while there. And shooting of course

Hawaii's an easy pick since I got family there and there's stuff that needs fixing. I can't imagine not taking some sort of digital imaging device, but film-wise, perhaps half-frame 35 mm Olympus Pen-S or Pen-F loaded with ISO 200 or 400 color negative film. Which is way faster than needed for the bright Hawaiian sun, but I also want flexibility to shoot indoors. For my usual walking tour to check out the street art scene, I might need to carry nothing more than the camera itself and the film it contains, given the 72+ exposure capacity.
Overseas, probably too soon: It'd be tragic to embark on a long flight on a Japanese or Korean carrier and not get the full meal service!

Well, the pandemic and GAS seemed to go hand-in hand for a lot of us, including me. Somehow I wound up with a Texas Leica, and I'm itchin' to put it to use in the situations I bought it for: documenting local culture at rodeos, county fairs, the local Pinto Bean Festival, etc. So not necessarily traveling far, but getting out and mingling. All contingent on the Covid numbers continuing to drop, but I think there's room for cautious optimism.

I travel light those days. A month ago I went to Andalusia (Spain), I took Rollei 35, Hexar AF and Fuji GA645.

A series of insane rationalizations brought me to a Nikon Z7 and the 24-200 lens. I am amazed how well this combination works, I'll be taking it everywhere. One camera, one lens and two batteries and a charger. The complete kit.

Cannot stick to one lens. But will probably drive north to Canada to visit the in-laws. It takes a total of 10-11 hours and 3 ferries to get to Hornby and it’s a well worn trip, but I like the peace of sitting on the beach and have no agenda when we are there.
Might bring a couple of simple 4x5 cameras and do a little paper negative shooting.

Mountainair has (or had) an annual art show in which the entrants exhibit the salt licks which their livestock have shaped. I shot that once for the Independent in 2015 and it was hilarious. Had a good cup of coffee next door to the gallery as well.
I was in the Moriarty Middle School and High School marching band for three years back in the early 90s and hated every step of the Pinto Bean festival parade. I bet chile verde roasting is going to be more of a celebration this year than last, as long as the current downward trend in infection continues (crosses fingers and knocks on wood.)

Hope the livestock got proper credit. That sort of thing is really valuable when you're trying to build a resume.

C'mon Zuiko...... for less than a tank of gas you can buy a box of 4x5 film
Travel far.....think big

I also like daydreaming about these situations. I prefer the experience and look of film and would love to use a 35mm 1.4 for a single-lens kit. My ideal setup would be my M6 + (dream lens) 35mm Summilux FLE. With my current kit I would use my M10 + Zeiss 35mm 2.8 or Ricoh GR III.

For April-May 2021, fully vaccinated, my conclusion is for domestic (US) travel. Airlines/airports are OK.
How about Sedona AZ, and then a swing through the fabulous Southern Utah National Parks?

It's good to see that you haven't lost your sense of humour this year Larry!
That will be the last thing to go. I’d hope.

Already took a trip in April to Virginia. I was considering taking my one-camera/one-lens Retina IIIc (Rodenstock 50mm f2 Heligon), but since it was also Zeiss Contax Month at RFF, I took my Contax iia + 2 lenses (Voigtlander SC Skopar 21mm f4 and Zeiss Opton 50mm f2).

Next year I would love to travel to Iceland for a week or two with a pile of Ektar, Ultramax, and Kodak XX.
I would have to go with my Leica M2 (currently away for a repaint) and the 50mm Summicron V3. I would have to smuggle the 35 Summicron in...

Not on this trip. Sedona and the Utah parks is a nice two-to-three week excursion. Tetons and Jackson Hole is another terrific destination.
I will go to the NJ/NYC area in the US since I haven’t been home since October 2019. I will also purchase a Fujifilm GFX-50R and 50mm 3.5 lens when I go back, so I’ll use that while I’m there.

Cape York, Queensland, Australia in Late June. Postponed from last year because of some mysterious bug.
There is a small plane limit of 3 Kilos.
Ha ha my smallest kit with XT2 and essential lenses is 5Kg. Walk tall and pretend it is light.
Cheers

Travel is fairly open in Australia, although a recent outbreak might hinder this. I recently went interstate and took my Leica M9 with Distagon 35, and Panasonic G9 with assorted lenses. I usually travel with the M9 + 21, 35 and 50, and mainly shoot with the 21 and 35. The 21mm Biogon on the M9 is superb for capturing lots of context and scenery, and the Distagon is like magic in a barrel. I might not even take a 50 with me on my next trip, given how versatile and awesome the Distagon is.
We were scheduled for two weeks in Sedona Arizona earlier this month, canceled due to health issues hopefully to be fixed. So travel is on hold for now. But the most recent road trip was to Canmore/Banff Alberta in the Canadian Rockies. Entering through Idaho the scenery was magnificent. I took only a Leica MD262 with 35mm Summicron v.1, a good choice after much pre-travel deliberation. We got snowed upon there that September, putting a sparkle on the mountains, but then we were snowed upon in Flagstaff AZ previously in May as well!
