Where are you shooting this weekend?

If the weather holds, I plan to shoot a couple rolls of Velvia through my newly acquired Konica C35 on the back streets of the French Quarter and Faubourg Marigny neighborhoods (N.O.). I'm not waiting to replace the seals so I 'm putting black electrical tape around the film door. Roll change while on the street should be interesting.

More seriously, right now (sat. 18:10 CET)i am preparing a big bucket of goulash. SOme friends will come over in an hour, we will feast and drink and then go to play some bowling. I hope to finish the second roll in my Kiev - first roll with the Sonnar on it! I've begun the roll with shooting some colleagues thursday evening, playing table tennis. It was quite fun (we all were a bit tipsy from a heavy dosis of 10% vol.alc. belgian beer, just before dinner). Curious to see if any of the shots will be in focus.

Anyway, back to the bowling, i might take along my super ikonta too, loaded w delta3200...just to have a "backup" 🙂

Still nothing for sunday...

If the weather in Surrey's anything like what I'm seeing out the window just now... good luck with that 🙂

Summer Festival is in full swing here. Also, the entire Lowertown area is now an artist haven with more than 40 in place and more coming from across the country to take advantage of the opportunity to restore old homes in that area at favorable costs. [This won big awards this year in city planning!]. Plan to take Nikon 5400 and either my IIIF with 35 Russian biogon or my reconditioned Zorki 2S with new Industar 52mm. You'all come. [Wicked coffee shop in Lowertown!]

You just reminded me: it's August on Monday, and there's nothing quite like Edinburgh in August - all the various Festivals, with carnivals, parades, street parties, street performers... and that's just the outdoors stuff.

I have a plan to go through rather a lot of film. 😀

We have "Jazz in the Valley" all this weekend, with bands and individual performers playing all over town. And the Mac User Group is having its summer picnic tomorrow. I will wander about and see what appears. 🙂

What a blast that will be ... one of my dreams to attend that one. And I'm partial to the pipes, so attending the tattoo would be great for me.

I have to work around the yard this weekend. We have a house painter coming as early as Monday, and I have to clear all the non-planned vegetation (i.e, weeds) along the perimeter. This morning I dealt with freakin' ivy vines at the front, and tomorrow will be a bit more of that at one back corner and some nondescript stuff at the other. (While working on this today I did listen to the NHL draft on radio to keep my mind occupied. Go Leafs Go!)

However, next weekend my wife and I are headed to T.O. to go to Taste of The Danforth, the huge food festival on Toronto's east side. We're taking the ferry over, so there will be lots of opportunities for shooting. I'll be travelling light... just a 35SP and an OM with 28 and maybe the 21/2. If anyone in T.O. wants to meet up for a bit or beverage, just PM me.

Last night I shot our annual church chittli'n cooking and eating, for you non-food connisuers, that is boiled/fried pig gut. SUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEE. Today I was out with the Canon SLR and the big 400 shooting dragoflies at the pond. I also took the Bessa R and drove around to some old farm houses

I was out and about in Enid testing a new old lens. I just received a CZJ Pancolar 50 and was testing it against a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenon 50mm. I also carried the Flektogon 25 and 35 and a 100mm for the Exakta, not a RF kind of day.
😱

I ended up just using my R9 today so nothing with the range finders. Did not have any sunlight as well. Most of today saw Florida with the liquid sunshine thing going on.

It's a long holiday weekend here in Sunny greater Toronto and I am headed back to Kennsington Market this afternoon to do some shooting with my KievIII, Canonet and Nikon F. So...anyone going out to play in their corner of the world?

Well, it's not a holiday weekend here, but I and a friend are going to some rural areas around here just to shoot what needs to be shot. 🙂

d'oh!

So I went to that Asian festival, disappointing at first b.c it was indoors and kinda thin, but I found some good people to shoot. Took a roll of Portra 400 UC on the Rapid Omega -- some lil' kids martial arts (too cute), big peoples' martial arts (pretty flashy), and a hula hoop contest (with the cutest lil' girl and a lovely elderly woman in colorful outfits). Went to change the back -- what? I never took the darkslide out?! :bang:

Hopefully I got some stuff in black and white.

Stet,
Perhaps misery loves company...we had the Northwest skateboard finals here today so I decided to go. Parked the scoot just in time to hear the announcer say that was the last competitor and they would begin the awards ceremony momentarily :bang: 🙂. So I got shots of the awards...

ouch.

Man, I'd love to see a skate contest. Er, I guess you would too, though

*ducks* 😀

At lest we still got another day to this weekend, right Honu-Hugger?
