I have just bought a Canon 50/1.2 LTM lens and it is in gorgeous condition. I am looking for the original filter for this lens. I believe it's the slim type without any accessory thread at the front.

I wonder if anyone knows where I can buy one.

Ritzcam.com has the complete original set (UV, Y1, Y3, G1, O1, R1) in 10- condition.

If you are worried about vignetting (which a normal filter does) I found Hoya HMC Pro Slim filters to work, too.

Roland.

The B&W slims also work fine.

I've not had problems with vignette - my problem was some filters had the glass set a touch too far back, and it contacted the front element of the lens.

Vignetting is no problem with this lens. Only the front element touching, which happens with some filters. Most filters are no problem.
But, if you want original, it usually costs quite a bit!

Vignetting is a problem, Rob.

Maybe not observable by most since nobody shoots it at 5.6 or closer.
Or uses it on an M8 ....

There is a reason why the original filters were slim.
