After having an M8 and selling it, and having an M9 and selling it, I have a nice low mileage M8 coming next week.

The prices for nice used ones are hard to pass up, so I decided I'd take the risk of an unfixable problem in order to have a nice digital M for IR and maybe some B&W (thought I greatly prefer film for B&W).

Anyway, I am thinking of changing the stock skin. Any suggestions on what gets as close as possible to the newer M9P "Vulcanite Leathering"? Can you actually buy that exact covering anywhere?

www.Cameraleather.com does offer coverings for the M8. I see some posts that say delivery from Morgan Sparks (Owner) is a problem. I have never had a problem. I usually email Morgan and ask if the has the covering in stock, then order. Some of the more exotic leathers have been a problem, but if you can check first, you know if he has what you want. I just ordered from him yesterday and I was assured my order will be in the mail tomorrow. Morgan is heading to California for Christmas so there may be a minor delay over the holiday's

Also M8 coverings are offered here:

Also a great product and I have purchased here as well. These may match the Vulcanite better.

I just redid an M8 with aki asahi 4008. It's the closet thing to vulcanite that he offers. its not as bumpy as vulcanite, but its close, and man is it beautiful!

Enero - that looks very nice! That is probably the way I'll go. Also, where is the best place to get the black dot?

Thanks

Thanks Randy - now that you mention it I remember people suggesting DAG for these years ago....
