I have been looking unsuccessfully for a while for a Vivitar Series 1, either the 28-90/2.8 or the 28-105/2.8, for Konica AR mount. Anyone have any ideas about where all these lenses have gone? I know that AR is not the most common mount, but it's also not like they made only ten of these lenses!
Thanks!

You have to keep checking ebay. Btw, I’ve had both lenses (OM mount) and the 28-90 is much better, being sharper, better built. The 28-105 also only reaches 28mm near infinity and is cammed to increase in focal length as you focus more closely. The 28-90 holds its focal length at all focusing distances. The 28-105 was a cheaper Cosina replacement for the 28-90 and was part of the overall decline in the Series 1 line.

Thanks for the tip! There are plenty of 28-90s in other mounts; it is just the K/AR that seems to be missing. Maybe I'll just get a Nikon one and use my Nikon mount adapter (though it is not as much fun without auto-aperture...).

Also try the Goodwill and Salvation Army sites as well as larger older photo retailers. As far as I know they did make this lens both versions in AR mount but yes they seem to have evaporated. Good luck I used the 28-90 version back in the 80's its a fine optic.

Keep searching ebay one will show up...
I found my Series 1 28-90 at a garage sale, I offered $20 for it and they took it.
It's in like new condition, it's heavy and it's in the Nikon mount, I forget I have it a times but it does get used when I'm doing close-ups...
Good luck in your search...
