Where to have some film developed and scanned

Hi,

It's been a while! Last year, I sold off all my film gear--cameras, developing kit, and (Nikon) scanner, but I still have about 12 rolls of 35mm and 120 film sitting here that needs to be developed and scanned. It's almost all Tri-X, and most was shot at the rated speed. So, I'm looking for a very good, reputable and reliable, place to develop and scan this film. I'd like the scans to be sufficient for printing at 17"x22".

I'm in the U.S. (Boston).

I do all of mine myself, but when I do send out, I use the nice folks at 120processing.com & oldschoolphotolab.com. They do a great job and are decently reasonable for mail off lab services.

I use North Coast Photographic Service, NCPS. They have been doing my film processing and scanning for 4 or 5 years. They do great scans but unfortunately only jpg scans. I get 48mb proof scans of all of my film and it's very reasonable. Link - http://www.northcoastphoto.com/

If I need Tiff scans I send the negatives to Photo Craft Imaging - http://www.pcraft.com/ where they do fabulous tiff scans 8 bit or 16 bit. More money but excellent work. Will do drum scans too but are pretty pricey. - jim

I am a new M6 user- used darkroom.com for my first batch of film (14 rolls) and thought they did a very good job on both color (print film & slide) & B&W. I also had them good higher resolution scanning- I will use them again.... good luck!

Glad to hear a good experience with them as my first roll to them is in the mail. We have a local camera store that does c41 and e6 but not B&W. they will send it out for you to a lab that develops it, and then they do the printing. The results were ok but the lab they use to develop takes weeks before the negatives find their way back to the local store. Being frustrated with that process I decided to try darkroom.com. Looking forward to seeing the results
