Where to put the 12mm finder ?

Hi,

I was wondering where you guys put the 12mm finder when you don't use it? I'm gonna be travelling with my M6, the 35mm Nokton and the 12mm Heliar. All must fit in a small Domke bag.

Any suggestions ? A little pouch or case ?

CV used to make nice cases that held the lens and finder- now discontinued. I don't have the 12mm, but do own the 15 and 21 in LTM, and those cases are great. They show up on eBay occasionally for $25 or so

I put mine in the tiny pouch that my Digisix meter came in. Clip it inside my bag (BBB bag) on the keyholder strap. Any small pouch should work fine. Try one of those pouches that Sandisk use for their memory cards, they're soft, zip fastening and can fit on a keyring.

Used to be in a soft pouch, tied to the lens; nowadays it and the lens are a permanent fixture on my Leica MDa.

The 12mm is a real squeeze to get into its case with the hood attached.

yeah, I agree that lens with hood would be almost impossible

One of those little draw-string microfiber bags from Sunglasses Hut or Boots, I put everthing in those so the don’t clank about in the bag

I use a CV 21 for Nikon and keep the finder in a hinged jewellery box (for a ring) that I stripped out and lined with foam.
The finder rests in a shaped recess cut-out in the foam.
I don't know if the 12mm finder is larger than the 21, but even so, I'd suggest you might get a similar but larger box from a Jeweller for a few dollars.

I put all my finders into the little zip up pouches that the Sandisk compact flash cards come shipped with. It's a clamshell arrangement the zipper wraps around 3 sides. Holds the finder safe and has a ring on the zipper pull.

Also try those pouches they have for mobile phones.

Another vote for the neoprene SD pouches. Strip out the clear plastic bits and you have a tight but well protecting cover.
