Hello all - I have a 40mm Nokton MC 1.4 that has something (?) between the front and rear elements. I have never noticed it before, but I have to assume that it has always been present - just not noticeable. Now it is clearly evident when looking through from the front to the rear.

So, who is a good repairman (or woman)?

Thanks,

Joe

I think that you'll need to tell us where you live before we can make any reasonable recommendations. You're probably not going to want to ship your lens over an ocean if you can help it.

Sounds more like some object has found its way into the lens, so it's technically a cleaning rather than a repair.

DAG has claimed to be able to fix those he can open- there being some doubt that he can open all lenses for some adhesives and problems with them.

I sent my CV back to the person from whom I bought it in exchange for another- he was going to "send it back to Japan" for repair, but I had to call him after the 8-10 week estimate to ask where my lens was. His response was that "they ordered the lens replaced" and he sent me a lens back.
The one I sent in. Not repaired.

Good luck. CV lenses are hard to deal with here because of the lacking dealer system.

As I was just rereading my post, I realized that I did not share I was in the USA - South Carolina to be exact. Perhaps it does need a cleaning. Someone has to crack it open to get the mystery piece out.

Contact Brian Sweeney here on RFF - he can probably whip that offending piece of whatever out of your lens and have it back to you in a week.

DAG is great, but he'll take months to get to your lens - he's totally swamped.
