Okay, so all this talk of what to bring on various trips hither and yon has got me wondering: Where y'all planning on going this year (if anywhere)? As for me, I'm going to see England, I'm going to see France...
edit - That'll be 5,554 miles away, btw
And yeah, I'm trying to figure out which of my gear to leave behind, too.

I've got a wedding in Berkely CA in late May, and one in Cambridge MA in late June; not sure when else I might be traveling this year. Maybe we can meet up in San Fran?

Not a bad idea. Maybe an RFF Bay Area meet-up would be fun. As long as I can get a day off!

4 weeks of paid vacation in July, dunno what I'm going to do though. Maybe take the Zorki out for some domestic traveling. See old, familiar places with photography in mind. Oh, and a visit to the summer "apartment" (really an old schoolbuilding) would be nice...

Leaving in a couple of weeks for Morocco.
Going to Washington, DC in May for a conference, but bringing the family.
My wife and I are going for a 2 week cruise in the Baltic in September.

Not going away, but still planning photos, tomorrow there's a mountain bike race in my city, then on the weekend there's a gathering of marching bands, in a couple of weeks it's the RFF shoot all day, and next month I'm going to Algarve for a weekend and thinking about photos away from the tourist scene there.

I am going to China for a couple of weeks in May. Package deal of the usual tourist stops. Normally, I prefer to travel independently, but given the great cultural differences and language hurdles, having a guide sounded like a good idea.
Besides my Canon 20D, I plan to bring along a Contax IIa w/ 21, 35, 50 and 85mm lenses, and a Bessa L with 15 and 21 lenses (for interior shots, using fast film).

Just got back from South Africa and took only a Panasonic FZ50 and the wife had her Oly C5050. I think that will do it for the year. Back to film for the closer to home stuff.

Setting off from the UK to the US in May. Spending a week in New York and then a week in Boston. Still undecided about gear.
Going to visit family in Kent on Saturday for about 5 days. Hope to get some serious shoooting amongst the usual snaps.

Kent is a great place for photos. All around the coast there are photo opps at every small port.

Ah looky looky
I'll be in Mexico for the shoot all day event. Then probably take some local trips around NYC later in the summer. Newport, Vermont, Western Ma. I want to take my Daughter to the aquarium in Atlanta too, so that's in the works.

I'm going to Fiji and then later on in the year to Ireland. I'm taking my two M7s on both trips but lenses still have to be worked out. Film I'm pretty clear on for both destinations.

Actually, I´m going to Los Angeles, San Diego and a little Mexico now around Easter. Hope to do a little work and have a good time with wife and daughter. First trip over for me - sure looking forwaard to it!
In late summer it´s back to the good old mountains. I tell them to stick around each year when we leave, and they haven´t gone anywhere yet.
For both trips; taking the new ZI with 12 and 50 (maybe also a 25 by then) and the D200 with 18, 50 (ZF) and 85.
