I have been using my R2M (my first rangefinder) for less than a year with the 35 color skopar c. I like it, but then again, I've never used anything else. I thought I would buy a 50mm in order to help myself take closer pictures (as I often wish I had taken the photo closer). Obviously, I could move closer to my subjects, but I am not yet confident enough to take close pictures of people I don't know. And street shooting is mainly my interest.
Hi Timothy,
If you want something longer, I would think about a 75mm or 90mm to augment a 35mm instead of a 50mm.
I also started out in rangefinder photography with a 35mm lens (Contax G in my case). For my second lens, I went for the 90mm (no 75mm in the system). For me this pair works pretty well. Only my trird lens was the standard (45mm for the Contax G). I only got it because these are dirt cheap these days. If I only can take two lenses on a project I still pick the 35mm and the 90mm. Regarding the way I use them, 35mm and a standard are quite similar and I prefer the angle of view of the 35mm.
My £0.02.
