Which "black F" would you part with? Apollo or NKG? Or keep them both and part with Spotmatic II?

I have almost mint condition bodies of both F's, although the NKG isn't that early - 65xx399. The Apollo is quite late -74x4999. Both are quite an interesting serial numbers as they are both "close to turning the clock over".

But I'm thinking about parting with one of them. Do you have any comments on which one should stay, and why?

e.g. - black NKG's are much scarcer and harder to find should I want another one? Is that true, compared to black Apollos?
Apollos feel better in the hand, with the smoother profile levers?

Other reasons?

Or what about comparing the two Nikons to the Pentax Spotmatic II? i.e. should I keep the two Nikons, and part with the Pentax with 50mm f1.4 SMC and 85mm f1.8 (yes!)?

Thanks

Vick

Keep Both. You will regret it if you sell them.

My wife would never let me sell either of such nice Nikons. Told me to keep them for our daughter, Nikki.

a black NK F in near mint is much rarer than a near mint Apollo in my experience, despite the black NK were probably made in higher numbers. people generally USED the black NK bodies.

ha ha, it is funny to see this old thread.

Since posting the thread, I sold my mint NK F and the black Apollo.

Then I had a bout of sellers regret, and re-bought a black NK F (with a minor dent due to the Photomic meter) and a not-mint chrome Apollo.

But, also acquired a mint black Nikon F. So, I went from 2 F's, to zero and now three.

Such is the way with F ownership.

Hah!

I have had quite a few F with FTNs...sold them all except one. I'm trying to unload the last FTN. I bought a meterless 65x black NK that was never modified for a Photomic with good brassing all over. I'll never sell the NK!
