A particular one standing out? I saw one with most of the images I've seen before, so I didn't get that one. It was really thin "written" by someone else (The name of the book actually was "Martin Parr")
How about the large one with the pinkish letters? I've seen that one around.

That's a pretty good choice Martin. I have that one, signed by Martin Parr, when I went to hear him speak at the National Media Museum in Bradford, UK. Have you checked out the Martin Parr group on flickr here http://www.flickr.com/groups/martinparr/

Thanks! I had it in my hands today, a great photographer. I don't even get why so many dislike him. I'll definitely get it once I'm in the mood to carry it all the way home.

My favourite is Think of England from 2000. It makes a great companion to Sergio Larrain's London 1958-59.

The Last Resort is a classic. Great street/documentary stuff. It might be out of print but it looks like there's going to be a new edition later this year.
If you like his flash and macro stuff Think of England and Common Sense are the ones to get. I also really like Small World.
You might want to track down a copy of No Title Here by Jeff Mermelstein. It's got a similar vibe to Parr's work.

I agree, the big one is a very good choice if you want an overview of Parr's work.

There's a hefty Phaidon book - don't remember if it has pink letters, I'm at the office now and the book is at home - but I got it real cheap, used, like about $10 or so.

I also have the big one with pink letters and I agree to consider it as a good choice for a first book of Martin Parr. It covers a large part of his work, print quality is very good considering the low price.
You can also consider the "Small World" album, his work on tourism, lots of great pictures and the forthcoming "Luxury", most of the photograph from this album are exposed in Paris at this time and it's really good.
