How about an M42 full frame mirrorless body no smaller than the Pentax MX and no bigger than the Spotmatic...

A7 series is probably in that range. My F3 is considerably wider than my A7RII, roughly the same height and the body thickness is pretty close. Sony is thicker on the body itself (and grip), F3 is thicker at the mount. The original A7 is a little smaller.

A compact monochrome camera that's designed to perform well with (mostly rangefinder) lenses that have high incidence angles. Leica solved this with the sensor microlens array but digital Ms are not priced for the average user; a curved sensor would also work. But I want it to be more the size of a CL/CLE and take a number of mounts - M/LTM essential and Nikon S as well if possible. So, a Monochrom CL, and why not a colour CL at the same time.

1. A Leica M11 with an option for a completely silent shutter like the Z6 ( see next wish ) but price capped at $6,500 like what I paid for my current and quite "clacky" M10.

2. A Nikon Z8 that is 24MP but with AF that goes to EV minus -5 and ISO 50K that looks like 3200 does now. It will be announced with a new Speedlight called the SBZ-100 that uses an adjustable color output flash tube to match the ambient white balance settings.

3. A Hasselblad V system CFV50SQ back that is 50MP but full frame and square.

2. Any camera that can mount the Mamiya 7 lenses, but better built than the Mamiya 7 and 7ii. The lenses are phenomenal.

I would love to have a digital Pentax 67 camera, featuring a full size 56x70 sensor. Further the large sensor would have to be full RGB, something like a Foveon sensor.

I would have two simples requests. The first would be a modern version of a Nikon F2 Titan but with a metered head without changing the dimensions of the classic unmetered head. In other words, I love the F2 chassis but the mushroom heads are plain ugly. The second would be a Leica M6 with 40mm framelines to make use of the Voigtlander 40 Nokton native.

I would like a digital Canon FD mount camera with a body like the A1 or F1 rather than the T90, I liked the user experience on them. Though if I was looking for a similar user experience but had no lenses a Contax Yashica mount would be first choice. If someone was clever with the interlinking a camera could be made with exchangeable mounts.
The other one I would like to see is a larger than 645 sensored digital, somewhere around 67 or bigger. Not sure how much resolution would be ideal, it would be good to go after other IQ gains such as colour fidelity.

Just a digital back - a 5" x 4" Graflok fitting digital back which covers 5" x 4" and produces a 20-30MPixel image. This would make an enormous amount of perfectly good cameras usable again.

None - my "dream camera" is already here!

It's the Sony A7R III. Pretty much perfect.

Small, ideal for manual exposure with manual lenses. And the electronic viewfinder is what really does it for me: I see the actual photo I'll get, not a vague idea like an optical viewfinder shows.

OK, there's a few things I'd change like removing all the video stuff - so perhaps I should say a customised Sony A7R III...

The Olympus XA lens on a camera that isn't compromising itself in trying to be as small as possible... Love the lens, hate the ergonomics.

An aperture priority TLR would be nice!

Systems I would buy no questions asked:

- Full frame Olympus Mirrorless OM1 with zuiko digital prime lenses to suit (with aperture ring)

- Digital fm2n with good focusing screen and f-mount. Don’t care if it’s mirrorless or slr.

- full frame manual focus digital bessa/ikon zi for under 2500us.

Basically I just want real purist cameras with no bull**** features and manual controls.
