Which cameras did you make your favorite / best photos with and vise versa?

Cameras are just tools. I try not to think too hard about them unless I am looking to get a new one. I've used a bunch of different ones over my life though and I couldn't tell you what I made the most of my best images with. Probably these days it is the Hexar RF only because I've used it the most over the last 12 years which is the longest I've used a camera by a long shot. My favorite camera is probably the Contax ST. I don't use it that much though since it isn't a rangefinder. Lol. Smaller/simpler is better these days for some reason.

There are no bad cameras really. Every camera is capable of being used effectively I think if you go with the flow. That is my general philosophy on photography though. Don't try to make something into something it isn't. Don't try to make TMZ look like Acros in other words.... Good work can be done with anything really.

In my film days, prior to roughly 1995, they were first the Nikon F3HP with a 50/2 Nikkor, then the Hexar AF with its fantastic fixed lens. Its been all digital since 2005 except for a brief love affair with the Leica IIIc and CV 35/1.7. Fav digital have been the first aps-c Ricoh GR, the Fuji X-Pro1, and the Nikon Df.

Of course and I wasn`t implying otherwise. However, we all tend towards a certain camera for a reason and some cameras work better than others for us for certain reasons. That was the spirit of the question. I understand they are tools... I wouldn`t own cameras if I was not photographing... but some tools just gel better than others.

I've made my best photos with a Leica M and 35mm, Pentax 67/105mm, and the Fujifilm x100X.

My worst overall productivity was with Olympus 4/3 and m4/3 gear.
