I have been pondering which of my digital cameras do I actually NEED for considered snapshots -

The Leica M8 is an indulgence and is used infrequently since retirement from working in London .

The Leica Digilux 3 even with jammed MD adapter , is a must to use my Rokkor 135 f3.5 which creates an amazing tiny, lightweight , 270 mm plus the 50mm f1.4.

The Panasonic L1 with a pair of Olympus lenses which cover all my modest requirements and display great colours and monochrome .

A Sony A35 to use my Minolta 35-70 f4 and a Sony 35mm F1.8 - although any camera would be available with a fast 35mm/50mm and for low light snapshots [ I don't do video ] .

Fuji FX 1 - handbag notebook - surprisingly useful .

Sony a290/A390 - not really needed , but I would miss the colours they create and the handling which suits me perfectly .

I guess , as professionals , needing is a requirement , but for others , just a couple of compatible bodies would be sensible ?

Hi,

Well, " just a couple of compatible bodies would be sensible ?" but are we sensible? Is there any point to it?

FWIW, I have a serious dSLR and a little pocket digital camera. Both elderly and very useful at times. But a pocketable digital P&S seems a rare beastie to me. I wish the digital people had created some like the small film cameras. They probably have but I don't read magazines about digital and there's few review sites that take P&S's seriously.

Regards,David
