There is an Iskra owner over at the Classic Camera Forum on photo.net named P.C. Headland that shoots chromes with his Iskra and his photos are breath takingly beautiful. His compostions make my work is just a bunch of snap shots, which is exactly what they are.

😎 I enjoy using these folding cameras and the looks I get when I use them. I have and use a Fuji GS 645 Professional and a Agfa Isollette 1 with an accessory rangefinder. The Fuji is 6x4.5 negative and that is the only minus I can say about it. It was serviced by Camera Wiz and it is exceptional. With built in meter and rangefinde, it is a joy to use. The Agfa produces some wonderful old-style prints. Look at my gallery and look at the folder images. The oof area of the 75mm is nice. With Tri X the lens is fast enough for easy use. The image below was scanned from a print. Film was Ilford XP2 and there was a bit of smug at the top I didn't see before scanning. Sharp is my definition! 😀

Keep the camera you have and go take pictures with it!! do it now. You don't need a rangefinder. I know I have too many rangerfinders and really like them. My favorite is my Ikonta B with coated tessar 75mm/f 3.5. I started out using a 1934 1/2 frame 127film format Nagelwerke Vollenda folder with a schneider lens. It didn't have a rangefinder, I was too young to worry about that then. I figured out distances in terms of my height as units. The front lens element on this camera rotated to focus. I would look at my subject and figure out how many of mees the distance was and focus. I also usually used a higher f stop to give me more depth of field. Now, 45 years later, I still use the same system. I usually focus first and occasionally use the rangefinder to check my guestimate. I am usually quite accurate. You could find an uncoupled accessory rangefinder to use with your present camera if you really must have a rangefinder.
