Really good 35mm at less than leica prices would be either biogon or a Hexanon. 35mm/2 M-Hexanon or UC-Hexanon performed superbly for me on film or digital.
Many thanks for all your answers, there appears to be a lot of interessting glass out there, I suppose in the end it´s all down to personal preference.
After a couple of years of trial and error I've trimmed my colection of 35/40mm lenses down to the 35mm Summilux ASPH and the UC Hexanon. Used both on the R-D1 over the weekend. Honestly if I ever get rid of one of these lenses (unlikely) I would sell the Summilux and keep the Hexanon. IMO it's that good, especially on the R-D1.
