Which Leica to choose after some Bessas and Leicas?

Thank you for keep on checking on me!
With neck strap applied to the half case it made big difference.
I went on 10km hike with R2M on me yesterday and it was not driving me nuts. Just not Leica, but OK camera. VF is super clean, RF is so so due to short base. 🙂.

Now I could sell M4-2 as is and get another M4-2 after CLA. 🙂

Now you have a plan! Great to hear you managed to make the Bessa useful - that should be around for a while as a good backup camera.

By the way, what kind of half case did you get?

Just make sure you don't sell the M4-2 to a RFF member (lol).

M4, if you don't need the meter. It has a better finder, it feels better overall also. Make sure you get one with the curved rectangle sides on the viewfinder (there are two version, this one gives you a bit more of relief on the framelines).

bonus: the 50mm framelines on the M4 and M2 are my fav. Just right.

Thank you for info, I didn't know about this framelines difference.
I like 50mm in M4-2 as well, it gives enough space around.
I liked how it worked with goggled Summaron. It was just too slow and too bulky lens.

I have an M2, M3, IIIc, and a Bessa R2A. I had an M4-2 that I sold... it was (and I presume still is) a very nice camera, but I soured on it after experiencing a bent rewind spindle on a European trip.

About 90% of my 35mm photography is done with 35 and 50 lenses. So if I had to pick just one Leica M body, it would be the M2. Fortunately, I don't have to pick, and enjoy shooting my M3 and IIIc camera bodies a lot. But the M2 achieves a level of perfection in simplicity that makes it a go-to camera for travel and other outings where one is taking just one camera body.
