The Heliar for wide angles, the Biogon as a 35mm-equivalent and the Planar for when I need a narrower angle of view. The Heliar cause it's relatively inexpensive and VERY VERY good, and the two Zeiss lenses for their magic Zeiss look (the Biogon is an expert at this!).
How many lenses are enough? Well, as many as it takes 😀

My only Leica lens is a 50/2.8 Elmar on my only Leica body M2
I really miss a 35 but love Elmar anyway.

Hmmm, to cut a long story short; 1, the IIIc has an Orion 6 on it and film in it. The others all have body caps on them, 2, because I wondered if it would work on the IIIc and will soon put a 30's f/2 FED on for the same reason and to finish the film up, 3, one at a time is good enough for me but I sometimes carry a two or three lens and body outfit. Two lens outfits as 90 and 40mm (CL obviously); 35 and 90 (everything else) and three lens outfits as 35, 50 and 90mm. And from time to time 28 and 90mm. That applies to all the CRF's, Contax, Kiev, FED, Zorki, Werra and so one.
Having typed that I wish I had a Minolta CLE but, well, you know the rest...

2 x M2 and an R-D1 +
21/3.4 Super-Angulon...amazing. I shoot everything from portraits to landscapes with it. On the R-D1 it's sometimes even more amazing so I bought another just for it.
35 Summilux...love the size, speed & character. On the R-D1 it transforms into a small fast 50.
50 Rigid Summicron...nice and sharp with classic character. Short portrait on the R-D1.
90/2.8 Elmarit...don't use it that much but when I do I always think 'wow' I should use this more often.
I like all these lenses for there classic character but the 21SA has quickly become my favourite.
This is enough for me...(at the moment!)

My main lenses are the 35/1.4 pre-ASPH, 50/1.4 ASPH and the 28/2.0 ASPH. I have the rest for certain situations, or to have something as an alternate/back-up should one need a repair. The 28/2.8 ASPH and Elmar-M 50 are a great compact lenses if I need my standard pair but want to be able to carry as little as possible.

I use the aforementioned because they are all great lenses and I can rely on them to work in all situations. What I choose to use for the day generally depends on ergonomics.

Why these lenses? They came with my M3 when I bought it, and I think the guy I got the outfit from made some pretty good choices!
I also have a Summitar that I got with my iiif that I now also use on the M3. These lenses are enough for me, definitely.

At the moment (since one month ?) mostly the 50mm Summicron-M and sometimes the 40mm M-Rokkor. I still have but rarely use the 35mm Summilux-M pre-ASPH, Noctilux, 90mm Summicron, 135 Elmarit. Back in Germany, my 21 Super-Angulon-M is waiting to be picked up by me but I don`t miss that lens either ...
Before, when I lived in Sapporo there were many more opportunities to take interesting photos and use different lenses, now, close to Tokyo it is just boring big-city stuff and a 50 mm or 35 mm Summicron serve me well for 90% of the photos.

Just been for a lunchtime wander and carried an M2 with 35 Summilux v1, the Summilux feels right / looks right and is very dependable, just enough character, super sharp from 2.8 and is not overly contrasty.
At home there's an M3 with 5cm DR, which I was using over the weekend with the CF attachment to shoot the frost.
Normally I tend towards collaspable 5cm lenses, which a Summitar usually wins out. There is something about the Summitars' rendering that suits my eye.
Also an MDa fitted with a 21/3.4 SA... 21SA enough said, no need to justify it.
The other bodies are all capped.

If I am using an M it's always the 35 v4 Summicron and if I need a 50 it's the pre asph Summilux.

Since about three weeks, I have a Version 1 Summicron 35 on the M3. The Cron is goggled, and it was meant for the M3. I have a rigid Summicron 50 on the M6. The 50mm lens is for me a must lens to have and use with a Leica camera. The look is also awesome. I also have the W-Rokkor 21mm/4 SLR lens on a Standard Leica since there is no need for focusing and since the W-Rokkor costs less than a CV 21mm lens or a Leica 21mm lens! I sometimes remove the 21mm lens and instead use a 75mm/1.4 Summilux or 85mm/1.5 Canon or 90mm2.0 or 2.8 lens.

Little clarification. Never thought I could afford Leica because of cost of lenses. Then neighbor in apartment building sold me the 2 CV lenses for total of $540 and I found a body about 6 weeks later. The 90 Elmar was added later. Fortunately Elmars are not too expensive.
