which lens for fuji xe3 ?

I'll likely buy the $200 35mm F2 XC as well... for a true low cost combo with the X-E3. For the rougher neighborhoods... 😉 Looks to be a good cheap option. Also, the Viltrox 33 1.4 AF lens (they make a 23mm and 56mm too)...the first AF third party lenses since the original Zeiss ones.

i had 7artisans 25/1.8 and 35/1.2
absolutely loved 35 - because its so tiny compared to fuji 35/2... i have 35/2 now and 18/2... 35 is small but still i would love something more pancake size to make it more pocketable... i have my eye on those pergear/andoer 25/1.8 because they surely look vetter in corners than 7artisans... i wanna get one 25 and sell one of fujis-i need money so i need to let one go. but saying all that 35/2 is awesome lens - only think that bothers me is that basic design of that lens is sooooo baaaad - so much barrel distortion - i simply hate barrel distortion. yes they correct it automatically-but the fact they made such a lazy design after so many 35s in history is kinda annoying...

The 1.4 was bigger, not silent and more expensive. The f2 was an easy decision for me.

I have the X-E3 and thought the 18-55 was a bit too heavy.

If I was the OP, and a 50mm FOV equivalent lens was desired, and you wanted a well balanced camera, and especially if you wear a neck strap, then the heavier lens would be out.

I use the 18mm f/2 lens only and it balances well. I like 28mm FOV.

I think the (optically) uncorrected distortion of the 35mm f2 is part of how they made it so very small, so I can't say I'm annoyed with Fuji about it, especially since they also offer the 35mm f1.4 which is much better corrected for distortion. Having said that, I am a little bothered in principle by how uncorrected the 35mm f2 is, and the implications that has (at least in theory) for resolution at the edges of the frame when the software corrects the distortion. I'm considering replacing my 35mm f2 with a 35mm f1.4 and maybe picking up the 23mm f2 which apparently also has much less distortion.

I've been experimenting with creating a warm preset that kind makes all my photos look like its the golden hour in the Mediterranean haha! I don't know if it will help you any but below is an example photo and the settings I have applied in AlienSkin Exposure X4 (notice the split toning for warm highlights)...

I'm using the 7Artisans 35mm f1.2 lens exclusively on the X-E3. I use other lenses on the X-T4, but I like having the X-E3/7Artisans combination as my no-thinking-about-it kit sitting next to the front door. Its a fun combination that feels more like my old film camera set-ups, when I'd use a Nikon body and a 50mm lens all day.

Aside from the plastic name ring, the lens is full metal and has no moving parts. Very solid. Doesn't come with a front cap.

Optically it's not bad at all, things are decently sharp from 1.5 meters to infinity. At 2 meters (I assume it's the optimal distance) there's quite some resolving power. Noticeable barrel distortion and vignetting. Flare resistant is so-so. Anyway it's so much better than the Fuji 24/8 cap I used to own.

Hopefully can get out for some street photos later this week.
