Hi! I have a Leica IIIf which has a problem with slow speeds. I don't use them very much, but I want them to work ok. Anyway, I saw a tutorial at the leica repair club, and I think I will give it a shot. But I don't know which lubricant to use? Any suggestions? I know I should use a teflon based lubricant, but I don't know any...

Only teflon-based lubricants I know of are Tri-Flow and Dupont. I wouldn't use either in a camera though. They're black, they tend to migrate, they turn into a dirty paste when the carrier agent evaporates, and they both attract crud like magnets. Every speck of airborn dust for miles around will practically kill itself trying to get into your camera. The guy in the tutorial is not using teflon lube. Are you sure you don't mean silicone?

I have removed the cold accessory shoe. I am talking about the small hole on that "paper" between the accessory shoe and the speed dial.

Whatever that is he's using in the photos, I don't think it's a teflon based lube. Teflon is black or brown and whatever he's using is clear. Most people use Nye watch oil, Hoppes gun oil, or (if they are going to Antartica) a silicone based lube. If you are determined to use one of the teflon based lubes, you should probably go with Tri-Flow. It is the least messy of the ones I have ever tried (although I was using it for gunsmithing). Note that "least messy" does not mean it isn't messy though, because it is.
