Which model electro 35 is this?

I recently purchased a Yashica electro 35 on ebay. Paid 29.99 for it.
But I have no idea which model it is.
There are no model letters any where on the camera.
It does not have a hot shoe, it has a small latch to open the camera and the ASA goes from 25 to 1000.
Any body have any ideas which model this might be.
Also does anyone do CLA's of electro 35's?

I'm trying to post some pics of the camera. But, I'm a little digitally challenged at the moment.

In the mean time, was there ever an Electro 35 made that was not a G model with an ASA range from 25 to 1000.

Sounds like one of the pre-G Electros. Some were marked Professional while others only had Electro 35 on the top plate..

Colyn is probably correct, it does sound like an early model Electro 35. They are fun shooters and have a nice lens and image quality for the price.(IMO). I enjoy using both mine. It may not be cost feasible to have the camera CLA'ed. I would spend some time loosening the mechanism by dry shooting and hoping for the best. Use it and enjoy it.

The pre-G models ASA range was only 12 to 400. You didn't get 1000 until the GS/GT models.

OK, I just looked on ebay and found it. It's interesting, to say the least...

The camera is an original, pre-G model. It SHOULD have an ASA range of 12 to 400. The only way it could have the 25 to 1000 range is if someone transplanted the lens/meter assembly from a later camera, which I have done myself a number of times. The only thing is that the later models have black plastic pads screwed onto the focusing ring to aid in turning the ring. Your camera doesn't have these in the pictures, however. Are there a couple of empty screw holes on the focusing ring? If not, I am at a loss to explain it. Of course, I suppose it's possible that someone just put on a later ASA knob, and that the camera really doesn't have that range at all. Only way to know for sure would be to take a look inside it and check for gold electrical contacts. The original Electro didn't have these, but all later models did.

Is there really a difference in the pictures a pre-G will product over a later G model? I know the G models have gold contacts and the later versions have a ASA range from 25-1000 and a hot shoe.
Aside from those differences shouldn't a pre-G and a G model function basically the same?

I new to the RF world so be gentle.

I don't know about glass, though it seems same to me in early and later models. I like early models better, GSN seems built not up to standrad of earlier G35 despite ISO500 only.

Where it counts, the later models are as good as the early ones IMHO. Where they got cheaper was in the use of plastic in place of metal on parts such as the rewind knob and the lens trim ring. The lenses are the same, still made on Japan, while the cameras were assembled inHong Kong.

I have a couple of the early "Professional" Electros.
And a "Professional"
Neither of mine are marked at all.
Just 4 screw holes on the bottom, not the usual 3!
All Cameras have the same 10-400 ASA

Sounds like a cut & shut!
