Well, after all those fantastic Magenta and M8 "expressions" let me just bring this long discussion back to where it stated, me wanting a Nikon RF to complement my many Nikon SLR´s and DSLR´s..... With all the help from all of you I did get one - S2 with 5 cm Nikkor and I have now got back the first test roll from the lab and attached some of the pictures below.
First impressions are very postive but I do not like the location of the shutter release knob but I guess I can get used to that. You also get a lot of admiration for the press-photographers in the 50-ties since it does require much more to use the S2 than if I take my D80 and put it on Auto with all the automatic support you get by autoexposure, autofocus, auto flash-fill-in etc....
It will be great fun to get to know my S2 more and hopefully also add a lens or two over time! Thanks for all support so far from all of you here in RFF!
Just to let you know that my Nikon S2 originally bought with the 5 cm lens now got an addition thanks to a fellow member here at RFF, a 13,5 cm lens with a universal finder!!
It will be great fun to test this lens during the week!
And here are some first tests.... mixed results from the first film - some really god but others without the sharpness, probably due to the fact that I am not used to work with the additional universal finder to compose the picture after having set the sharpness when working with a short DOF..... Working with a tele-lens will require a little bit of experience - different from years with a SLR and DSLR - I guess.
Look at classified at my S3 black, you don't need anything else.
If is it real that Nikon F was a work horse, my black S3 is a PANZER.
No other one camera is more" usable" and also collectable, i suppose....🙄
