My computer does not cooperate with Henry's password system; I have no idea where a IIa is on the list.

I have both BD (IIa) and CD (IIIa). They are excellent cameras. Allways take one with some lenses when I travel around my country. Picture result is excellent but if you compare with a canon rangefinder (mechanicaly I mean) first one is much much more shopisticated. Shutter curtains/mechanism are very difficult to repair too. Attached some pictures of one of my Contax. I have also a 21mm and a 250mm with flektoscope (turns rgfd into a reflex). Some day I will post some pictures. Just looking forward to buy a good scanner what is almost impossible here!

Restoring the IIa is ridiculously easy. I've even made an adjustment to a rangefinder that a noted repair person said couldn't be adjusted -- the close focusing was off.
Do the work yourself and use the money you save on film or another lens.

DS -- thanks, Rover. I forgot he even had the camera until he mentioned it when he returned the "I."rover said:Hey, what are your initals, I'll check for you.

I have a IIIa and I am happy with it. Sure the meter does not work, so what. My camera takes really nice pictures and that is what counts.

Yep, that's the ol' gal. She was pretty sweet in my hand to begin with, but he promised even more (smoother and the meter working as new - which when that pre-war was made means that ASA 200 is _really_ fast film)...
Thank Ghu that DAG will be done much sooner than I'll need to find the $$$ for him.
Thank you, Brett.

Ah, I was wondering why I hadn't seen shots yet. I'll look forward to them, vicariously...

#30 William, that is way up there. I keep checking hoping for an email from Henry saying that he has a camera on his radar screen to buy for me. Of course by time the camera comes (with a 1.5 Sonnar) I will have bought a bunch of other 50mm lenses for it. I already have one and thought about bidding on a 2.0 yesterday.

You can never have enough 50's, right, Ralph?
If I buy an Ultron and Nokton and adaptor then I know that I am sick Frank.
