I have been taking photos with rangefinder cameras for a couple of years now and now I wanna buy an film SLR to my bag alongside the RF's.

I have stripped down two options and I would like to hear your opinions about these cuties.

Canon TX or Mamiya MSX 500. both cameras are priced 50 € and comes with a 50mm f/1.8 lens. ;)

Canon body pretty much equals Canon glass.

If you like goofin' around with different kinds of lenses I'd get the Mamiya, that is an M42 screw mount body and you can get loads of lenses for next to nothing to use on that. Old Takumars, Zeiss, Pentacon (=East-German later Zeiss models), EBC-Fujinons, in recent years even some Voigtlander lenses were made in M42!

I don't know pricing in Europe, but isn't that a little high for cameras that only have a max shutter speed of 1/500?

I also don't know either camera, but both makers put out good cameras. Canon had a slightly better reputation, but in its leseer lines, I think that was marketing and riding on the coat tails of their pro line. I've known people who had some of the latter Mamiyas and they were capable of perfectly fine photos. Both had good lenses, and an f/1.8 should be a good lens.

I'd go the canon - I'm a fan of canon lenses, and the TX is rather handsome. Also, I find screw mount lenses super fiddly.
