al1966 - interesting that you too have just picked up an Olympus mju1.
yashi - they look even better with a new covering, but great little camera and a lot of info about them on the internert.

Darkhorse:
$60 seems an inordinately high price.
Look on eBay - ask the vendor some questions, and you should easily beat that price. It is an old camera and been out of production quite a few years, but quite highly rated: certainly cheaper than the Ricoh!
I've just picked up the even older f3.5 version for £4 and that included box, new battery and instruction book.

That's just it, the 2.8, mjuII has a bit of a cult resurgence going on right now, so they're going for a premium. Fantastic camera but is it worth $60? I don't know, is a T4 worth $250-$350? pretty hard to answer. I bought a T4 Super for $60 and didn't like the size of it (which is why I have the ricoh) so I sold it for what it was going for at the time to someone who really really wanted it, it funded the GR purchase. The mjuI is what my girlfriend uses and it's a great little camera. $2.99cdn at value village.

I have on the way a Fuji Silvi. Hopefully it will kill my PS jones-- seems to have all the bases (24mm wide, but also zoom settings, exposure control, sharp lens) covered. Then I can get rid of a few redundancies. The wife is worried.

We're all light!
For black and white: GR1
For Color: Yashica T4
Both have great lenses which is all I really want in a point and shoot. I could care less about the viewfinder. For me if I want control and a good viewfinder, I'll grab my Leica. If I need something smaller, I'm willing to sacrifice the control, but I want the photos to look good.
I think the GR-1 handles both well:

Trio, Chelsea, Manhattan, Summer 2001
(Technical: Ricoh GR-1, Ilford XP-2 Super)

From Manhattan Bridge, c. March 2002
(Technical: Ricoh GR-1, Kodak E200)
I tried to love the T4, but the near-absolute lack of manual control frankly drove me nuts. Yes, the glass is All That, but it was akin to driving a fast little sports car with all the controls of a bumper-car.The GR1 renders black and white really nicely and has the added bonus of great ergonomics.
I love the t4 lens for color even though you have to turn the flash off every damn time and sometimes it focuses incorrectly. Also I tend to travel to beach areas a lot and the weather seals etc make it a nice vacation camera. It's a little fat but it works.
I'm much more on-board with the T2, but I prefer my Tvs even more to that:I tried the Contax t2 as a T4 with more control but it's much heavier and I don't like the rendering of the sonnar lens nearly as much as the tessar on the T4. The extra controls are nice but I want great photos.

Faraway Eyes, Staten Island Ferry, Summer 2010
(Technical: Contax Tvs, Kodak BW400CN)
The Hex AF is a bit big to be a "casual" p/s, IMO, but when I had one, I truly appreciated its qualitites:I'd like to try a Hexar AF but since it's the size of a Leica, I don't really see it as a point and shoot.

Broadway Mural, Manhattan, Summer 1995
(Technical: Konica Hexar Autofocus, Kodachrome 64)

Little Big Bike, Manhattan, c. 1999
(Technical: Konica Hexar Autofocus, Konica Chrome 100)

Chelsea Phone Booth, 2001
(Technical: Konica Hexar Autofocus, Ilford XP-2 Super)
At the moment, my active "pocket" cameras are the Contax Tvs and (finally) a recently-acquired Nikon Coolpix P6000, which I'm still getting to grips with but liking a good deal so far, which is a good thing, as it's going to be my sole digital camera for some time to come. I still have my Ricoh GR-1, but it's still awaiting my sending it out for repair after dropping it several years back. I'd thought about getting a Minolta TC-1 (prices are starting to come down from the upper stratosphere), but I really have all I need between the Tvs and P6000...I think I'm going to nickname them my zoom-zoom duo.
