Hi All,
I was trying to figure out what does a real LTM Sonnar supposed to look like?
There so many fakes out there. Plus different versions (possibly).
Here are a couple of links to Ebay. All look different. Any thoughts/comments? Also if anyone has a good refference web site - that would be nice too.

Here is one:
http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/20...tegoryZ28272QQihZ017QQitemZ270048256680QQrdZ1

it looks kinda fake to me. I was ttold that the real ones only close down to f16. Never heard of focus lever like it has.

Here is another:
http://cgi.liveauctions.ebay.com/21...tegoryZ28272QQihZ017QQitemZ270048256687QQrdZ1

It looks more like real, but....not sure.

Here is one more:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Carl-Zeiss-West...8QQihZ018QQcategoryZ30063QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It comes from a reputable dealer and only does go to f16 plus clearly says "made in Germany". Plus all ingravings look much cleaner.

So, what do you think?

Hi Krosya,

I was asking myself the same question since I did believe that the guys from Westlicht-auktions know what they talk about but the lenses just don´t look right! Take a look at : http://www.taunusreiter.de/Cameras/Zeiss_Fakes.html

the sonnars have the focusing in small "m" instread of a large "M" but otherwise look like Jupiters...

I will attend the auction in vienna and I´m curious what they will fetch...

btw. they sell an old Fed 1 or zorki Leica clone for starting bid of 200€ !!! estimated price 400-600 .... I bet in good old FSU some eyes will start glowing ;)

the last seems to be a true prototype, see the "." and not ", " markers on the aperture ring. Arsenal camera is expensive but usually sell real collectible :D
