I am shopping for a neck strap for my CL but realised the narrow rectangulars lug makes the choices narrow somewhat.

What strap do u have on yours?

To be honest I usually use the CL with either a wrist strap or the original black neck strap, but my Domke Gripper strap also fits just fine with the split rings removed from the ends. Just make sure you get the 1" version and not the 1.5" - I think the strap ends on the 1.5" version are thicker. I actually bought the Domke for my Konica Hexar AF, which seems to have even narrower lugs than the CL, so you could see if there are any threads discussing this issue with the Hexar AF.

The strap I had on my CL for 20 years was made from a piece of cut-and-sewn denim from an old pair of soft Levis and leather ends I had permanently attached with rivets at a shoe repair shop. Eventually I cut it off so I could use the camera straight out of a small nylon day bag that hung across a shoulder. I ended up not liking that arrangement, and I've not found a strap yet as good as that old homemade one.

I have the actual CL strap, but I rarely use it. I don't like having the back and the body chained together. Sometimes I use a wrist strap that screws into the tripod socket, but most of the time I go strapless.

If you want a conventional horizontal strap setup, the Luigi case might be a good way to go.

I use a simple black nylon strap that has a somewhat wider part that goes over your shoulder or neck. No separate neck pad. When using the camera, I wrap the strap around my left wrist. It works.

Having taken the plunge and bought a CL on ebay I decided to make a strap. I used an old black leather belt from a now defunct leather coat- about 4cm wide - to make the wide section and cut 4 triangles to reduce it to the 1cm nylon tapes that go through the lugs. I had a pair of buckle slides that were in my odds-and-sods box that fitted, and I found some 4cm circular LEICA patches on Ebay which I've sewn on to decorate it. I'll try to take some photos to show you.

I have the Luigi case. There is a Zhou case which is less expensive, but the Luigi case is top notch. Both can be found on that auction site...
