My thinking that a FF EVIL might first come from Nikon was based on many patent applications, news and rumors...most recently from this:

If CV came out with a 24X36 sized sensor digital Bessa/Ikon and sold it for $2,000-3,000, you could quickly say goodbye to M9 sales (apart from wealthy Leicaphiles). It would totally take away Leica's grip on the digital RF market, not to mention huge amounts of press coverage.

A 12-16MP sensor, no AA filter camera? Without the corner problems on the M9 with wide-angle lenses? Killer.

Fuji X100 is as close as you will come a digital rangefinder... when this thread was created no-one knew about that camera. Shows how quick things change, maybe there will be a digital Bessa around the corner!?
