Who does a good CLA on a Nikon F100?

I can't help you with a Nikon tech, but in case you don't have a manual here is what it says:
"Viewfinder -- Err blinks
Cause -- Malfunction detected
Remedy -- Release the shutter again. If the warning indication remains, or this warning appears frequently, contact authorized Nikon dealer or service center."

At the bottom of that page it also talks about low or poor batteries causing the camera to shut off. For that they write to turn off / turn on the camera. Or change the batteries.

I figure you've done the things, but maybe you haven't.

Actually I've bought three "mint" ones recently and they've all had issues that warrant return or repair. One guy's getting a visit from the cops if he doesn't refund my money.

I suspect the good ones are spoken for and buying Uncle Dave's old one is just a crap shoot since they are just old enough to start flaking out.

Yes, just buy another one. It will probably be cheaper than a CLA, and you only have to pay insured shipping one way instead of two. Or just buy an N8008s for 20 bucks. I preferred those to the F100 (too much mirror slap), and it's a fantastic camera w/ tons of features. Takes cheap AA batteries too,

What sort of lens did you have fitted? I've had err message when my lens has not been on the smallest aperture. Change batteries, do a camera reset and make sure the lens is set correctly. Shame you are not in the UK as Aztec camera do a reasonably priced CLA.
