Who Got One?

This analysis is only accurate if the start production about the same time they release the camera for sale

They should have produced enough to satisfy much of the initial demand instead of dribbling out a few at a time

Well that's one way of doing it. Of course then no-one would have had their cameras yet.

well I got mine, shot it for a couple of weeks, got a bit bored of it, loaned to a friend who wanted to have a go, getting it back tomorrow. Now I have another 2 friends who want to take it for a spin, I even mentioned it to Sean Reid in a random email and he asked me if he can borrow it for a quick test... hot item!

Just got back from a full day's shoot with the camera.

First impressions: not perfect, but damn good.

I'll write later with a full mini-impression-review, together with some OOC J-pegs.

Wouldn't happen to be John would it be? If it is, pls tell him I say hello.

Btw, cancelled mine. Although once I play with it, who knows.

The camera is fantastic. I've had mine since March 10. There are some minor quirks like all cameras, but what counts is the image quality and amazing high ISO performance. The lens is a gem.

Now just need RAW support. :)

Here are some excellent portraits...

sure is, will do :)
I think he was initially intrigued by the concept but eventually was a bit put off by the known teething issues, average battery life and lack of manual focusing aids.

i called a small camera shop just outside london yesterday and they had one in stock. It had been there for 2 weeks apparently....anyway i went and bought it...havent had a chance to really experiment yet but image quality is great, just needs to be set up properly.....its strange because i was expecting Contax G2 simplicity in a digital format but its a bit more techy! Although in full manual mode its fairly simple which is good......there are lots of little quirks i have noticed already but i guess they will add to its charm

Mine arrived.

it is light and small - at first i thought the box must have been empty :)

The viewfinder is simply brilliant!

Some buttons seem a little small for fat thumbs - but maybe it won't be an issue.

No proper tests yet - unfortunately a new day job got in the way.

from my initial messing about gave an initial impression which is positive.

time will tell if i meet my objective and sell the heavy dslr and go 'light'.

really hope Apple releases a RAW update soon ... I have Photo Raw Processor - thanks to that team - but its not the tool i'm used to.

i have a Sandisk Ultra III, it seems very slow with no decent write speed the camera is struggling with RAW unlike Nikons with a better buffer and compressed RAW. I will pick up a fast card this weekend if I get near a store.

portraits of the kids seem to be on the limit of normal focus, switching to macro is not difficult - but feels a strange option.

Due to some sort of sickness in my brain, I will not get one just because everyone else is. probably also why I bought Saabs for decades.

Mine arrived today as palker said i thought they had not sent the camera.
Lens hood and spare bettery on back order.
Great build quality and nice to have proper dials to play with rather than menus.
Battery charged and I will be testing it tomorrow going for a stroll and I will see how it compares to my M9.
