I don't like competitions or awards on a general basis as they lead to rigid artistic criteria. This can be seen at any UK camera club exhibition or in the Reader Portfolio pages of AP. If I see one more Velvia landscape with polariser, sunset grad and warming filter combined I'm not going to be responsible for my actions. Personal taste is the only arbiter really.
