J-8 and j-3 worked perfectly. Black J-12 blocked the meter but worked fine. J-9 was not focusing correctly, although it works fine on other cameras.
Just my experience.

J-3 on Bessa without problems...

A slightly cleaning marked J-8 on Bessa R seems to work fine for me. I've just shot a roll with an Industar 26 so will have to see how that turns out.

I have bought another Bessa R since I posted above. And have used, this summer, my J-8, J-9(85mm), and occasionally my J-11(135mm). Good results with all of them. I don't have my FED 5 with me but will be trying out its Industar 61 L/D when I get back home. And fully expect good results from that lens, too.
I did use my collapsible I-22(50mm/f3.5) and liked the pictures but was/am too worried about collapsing it to make it a regular lens for the R.

I have used a J-8 and j-3 and they worked perfectly. I have used them on a Bessa R and a R2a. The Jupiter J-3 1.5 modified by Sweeney is my favorite lens. I have used an I-22 and put a 1/4 inch tape on the collapsing barrel so the lens wouldn't hit the shutter when collapsing it.
