I enjoyed watching the video clip of Magrack with Meyerowitz.
But I can't find that much about him on youtube though.

It's funny, I've seen several threads discussing Mermelstein. Every single one someone says he's creepy. It's a joke, I'm sure winogrand was equally creepy. Who cares?

I haven't seen any of Mermelstein's books yet, so I'm not a big fan, but what I have seen is great.

I watched the utube videos. Man is that guy creepy. He's very good at what he does but his vibe is just, well, weird. I suspect if he tried that vampirish pounce stuff anywhere other than NY he would be thumped.

the man is CRAZY. I can never raise my camera and stick it to someone's face like he did. The pictures are certainly outstanding but the method he used is not suitable for everyone (majority people i assume)

The guy looks like a retard... But that might actually help him get away with his way of shooting.

Hmm, there used to be quite a number of clips from the BBC Four series with him on Youtube, but a lot of them seem to have gone. If you search for 'BBC Four Genius of Photography' you'll still find some clips with him in it (like this one, but there were others from later in the series which showed him out on the streets shooting, and approaching people to get their portraits.

If you've not seen the series it's worth tracking down, even though it has a few issues.
