Who Went to the Toronto Camera Show

It really was sparse. Many of the regulars weren't there and many that were had stripped down stock.
with any luck the next one will be better.

I was there.....I just bought some film. I got to handle a Kiev 4 and a FED 1. 😀 I dunno but I didn't like how they set it up. Not enough space to move.

Usually there's less space, about 30% more tables and you have to kill people to move. 😀 Most of the FSU stuff was rather overpriced I thought. I considered some of the film, but 3 year out of date T-Max didn't seem like a great deal.

I thought the FSU stuff was overpriced also. Well the film I got was pretty cheap. 2 for $1 Fuji Superia 400. I asked the seller how old this film was. He told me I have a month to use it before it's past it's past its prime. It didn't matter. It was cheap and I wanted to see the difference between fresh and stale film.

I decided to pass on this one for the sake of my wallet and family peace. But last time I also got in on the $0.50 rolls (24exp) of Superia 400 and 800, and $2 rolls of 120-format Tri-X (from another seller).

There's one seller who always sets up in the back-right corner of the hall (viewed from the door) who has some very nice but horrendously expensive Zorkis, etc. Is that who you guys are talking about?

I also get a kick out of the $350 Yashicamats and $600 Mamiya C330s.

He wasn't there today, but there was a guy looking for $125 for a J12 and $150 for a J9.

I managed to have a quick look around before meeting with John. I saw some high prices and I saw some low prices. High, were the Leica IIIf's @$500, low (I thought) was a Summitar for $250 and a recent model Elmar f2.8 for $300. This is all Canadian.

There were some Nikon RF's there too. User S3's for $1200, and S2's for $1000, no lenses. There was a new in box Nikon S2-2000 with lens for $2300. I thought that was good compared to the new S3 that sold here for $5000US.

Both the past Vancouver camera shows/meets sucked. Each year they suck a bit more. I miss the big one when they set up down West 4th Avenue. Now it's out in the stick's end of Burnaby. 😎
