Whose Leica has the most brassing?

It's amazing how much Leica culture and Fender (guitar) culture have in common... except that Fender (the company) has gone so far as to market "relic'd" guitars for higher prices. I have to shake my head. Torn jeans. Scratched Telecasters. Sanded Leicas. How much should I pay for someone to grafitti my fence and key my car?

Don't get me wrong. It's an appealing look. (not the grafitti and keying) I just think that it's robbed of it's appeal when it's the product of mimicry.

I agree. I'm not scared of wear and scratches but I'm not going out of my way to get them.

Absolutely, which is why the best advice is alway to get out and shoot. That way you end up with real good photos and a real worn camera (if that floats your boat). Personally I could tno care less if my camera has brassing, as long as it does not look so new people want to steal it. I find those sanded BP (modern) MPs nauseating, especially when the user claims it is all real when it is very obviously not. I would not trade one picture for a more 'beautifully brassed' camera. Its a camera.

nice MP, i've always wanted one but i've got a couple of Ms to keep the want at bay 🙂 i'm just wondering why your camera is brassing so evenly ? is it because of the way it was painted to wear faster ?

Alright... I'll join in - here's my kit that I have worked hard for a while to put together.

The best thing about a brassed camera is that it encourages you to use it without having to worry about ***damaging*** it. A very liberating feeling.

I have no idea on the reasoning for the wear pattern on this MP. I got it a few months ago and it was (mostly) like that already. I have noticed a bit more brassing since then.

Seems like the edges/corners are exposed and rubbed more than the rest of the body - I don't use a case for this camera.
