Okay, that was funny. It’s an advert. The reason I know it’s an advert is that I got to the end and no one had asked “Why is the Hasselblad Lunar so expensive?”
why did my Stellar (ie RX100) so expensive. I did find out that Hassleblad engineers tweaked the camera and made it impossible to upgrade with Sony Firmware. That made me angry.Okay, that was funny. There was a small window, around 2008 or so, when Hassies were affordable for mere mortals. At that time everyone believed that film was dead, and film cameras would all soon become doorstops. That's when I loaded up: $250 for an Excellent Plus 500 C/M at KEH, for example. Those days are past, and I'm glad I pounced when I did! This is an advertisement for Blad and their story doesn't justify any point why the Hasselblad is still too high in price. It is never affordable to any general photography person.
I bought my first Hasselblad camera during the year 2000. It was the Blad 203Fe Millenium special edition. I had to save lot of money before I got it. I was able to manage that camera and it was expensive. But HB digital is extremely too high. Even buying a Digital back for an analogue camera is too pricy. That's why I got into Leica M and it is still affordable.
Why anyone like Mont Blanc pen or a Rolex watch??? It is the same thing for Hasselblad Digital I guess!
If you have a good Plastic Bank card with a good micro chip that can allow that check to pass on a transaction . then there's no problem to get this camera!!
Really, those were the days. I got a 553ELX plus WLF and A12 for about the same amount and I paid just a bit more cash for the older 80/2.8 C attached - I tested all the modes thoroughly and it works great. There was a small window, around 2008 or so, when Hassies were affordable for mere mortals. It's 11:34 PM as I read this, and you're giving me a munchie attack that can only be cured by something that will have me tossin' and turnin' all night with heartburn. Wicked man!As I posted before, the X2D with XCD 55V is cheaper than the M11 with the recommended 50. And the X2D gives better images. End of story.
I swung by a burger joint that was written up in George Motz's Hamburger America, The Helvetia Tavern. This is in Hillsboro, OR, in a way the hell and gone spot near nothing but fields of cows. As other folks, friends, were interested, I took some photos. The burger was the Deluxe Double Cheeseburger with a side of onion rings with the house "Goop" sauce which is peculiar to the Pacific Northwest. I took a photo with the X2D and one with the phone. Same light, same time, same place. Unfair phone and HB, yes. But you do get the idea. This phone does give good photos but not in comparison.
Oh, the burger and onion rings were great, washed down with Mountain Dew. ;o)
