Thank you Andy. Before I ask a question, I always do a thorough search of the internet and archives. Sometimes I find an answer, sometimes the thread dates back to 1998. Re-posting a question sometimes will get a response than wasn't there in the last go-round.
As far as the "I just got my M3 cla'd " threads, that's just human nature. People get excited with their new toys and I'm more than willing to share their joy. Boy, I'm getting soft in my old age. Stop me if I get to the point of group hugs.

On PNet, i usually frequenteed the classic camera, the medium format digest and (although not very useful but entertaining) the BW film and development, or whatever it was called. Also sometimes the street - people photography.
Alas, many great people left the classic camera forum on PN for whatever reasons. Good/funny/entertaining semi-offtopic discussions disappeared as well as photos posted by members.
The medium format digest got a bit repetitive and i lost interest in it no being very much involved in MF equipment; same with the BW film dev. The street-people-thing got rearranged and got more and more the style of the leica forum which i visited sometimes but never contributed.
Briefly, i almost never go to PN anymore. Did not renew my (paying) memebership neither.

Stu, the other thing is that this is the internet. So all the social misfits, the lardy assed blowhards, the fantasists etc. who in real life would mess themselves if you so much as sneezed behind them in the street, they all get big and brave here because they are hidden behind the internet, and so they respond with rudeness towards others.

As for me I wish people here were more honest in their opinions regarding the quality of the photos posted here. I once had a photo I posted in the RFF gallery slammed pretty mercilessly. That made me be more all the more critical of my photography for which I am grateful.
As to new members asking stupid questions, maybe they just don't know their questions are stupid. I'm not so sure I really knew what an RF camera was 6 months ago. Jim

I like the pragmatism that's at the core of pnet, but RFF arms you with the "mad skillz" to face a hit-and-run attack (at pnet and in actual life) and not take the bait.

Not being a wine person, and unsure of what to do with several bottles of the world's finest vintage, he placed it in his hall closet to await inspiration or an appropriate gathering of notables.
