If anyone has a question about a moderator action, wouldn't it make sense to PM amoderator to ask it? It makes so much sense, that this is in fact the protocol at RFF.

As for an explanation of why the thread was deleted, it became political in nature, it was late at night, and even moderators have to sleep.
