Why did this happen?

Actually, I think I know. I souped two rolls of Arista Pro 400 today for 13 minutes in 1:50 Rodinal and it came out of the fixer practically clear. I could barely make out the super fun street shooting I did all day...what a drag.

I mixed up the Rodinal dilution (at 1:25) over the summer, used most of it, and watered today's solution down to 1:50 to tame the grain. What I assume is that diluted Rodinal doesn't last that long. Is this right? I hope it is, otherwise something is up with my M2.

From now on I intend to just mix up only the amount I intend to use that day.

Dilute it, use it, chuck it! Rodinol stock keeps about forever but not once it's diluted.

If you diluted D76 into 1+1, I'd be willing to bet it would not last very long either.

Hey, live and learn - developer is cheap. I try to just make new mistakes each time. Sorry you lost the shots, we've all been there and it sucks.

You could see the leader is clear and see there are no frame numbers and detirmine the developer is bad or you used fix from a missidentified bottle.

No, the frame numbers are barely visible, and my fixer is correctly labeled...it was the Rodinal for sure.

And yeah my D76 is stock...

Rodinal keeps for years, but as a concentrate.
Then use a syringe to dilute the solution fresh and dump it.
1+50 for 2 35mm ~12 ml + 600 ml water.

I'm surprised you have any image in there at all.
