I have a QL 17 GIII and a GSN so why do I feel the need for a P? What is so special about them?
Interchangeable Lenses.
Canon P: 1x Viewfinder; Bright (painted) framelines for 35mm-50mm-100mm;Stainless steel shutter curtains; uses all Leica Thread Mount lenses; lever advance, crankl rewind, relatively low cost for a high-quality body. ~$275 EX condition.
Canon 7: Adds Projected parallax corrected framelines for 35mm-50mm-85/100mm-135mm, 0.8x viewfinder with wider baselength, Selenium meter, takes LTM lenses and has bayonet mount for 50mm F0.95 lens. Cost less than Canon P because Joe talked the "P" up so much! ~$200 EX condition.

Agree with Julian and Brian's comments, also: how's your eyesight? The P viewfinder is the first I've ever used with true 1:1 viewing for use with both eyes open, and the quality of the viewfinder optics seems to be just as good as the quality of the optics in the lenses. For me, a real "eye opener"!, easier and more enjoyable than the other rangefinders I've used including Canonet, Olympus SC, Yashica Electro, Mir, etc. The camera somehow says "I'm a serious camera, capable of outstanding results, so think about what you are doing with me".

The QL's quick load mechanism will fail from use, just like in the FTbs...you need a few in reserve. For some reason, however, the meter keeps on ticking...maybe because they're ten-twenty years younger than the 7.
Sevens are less valuable because their meters are either dead or dying. Lots of em' for sale that way. So there's this blob on the front that doesn't do anything. The same is going to be the case with M6 meters, but by that time there won't be any film to worry about.
Old light meters (eg CDS Lunapros) are also doomed...same reasons.
Bring out your dead, bring out your dead, bring out your dead

My M5s need red dots!
'cuz they're cool... And because otherwise you'd need a Leica.
Terence, I see yours is for sale.
Rover? Got a sales pitch as well?
Jorge is unloading his MP outfit? Bought a Nikon D2x!!! Does not even do Full-Frame, Like my Nikon E3...
What's going on!
BTW: Terence's Canon "P" looks in great shape...

Terence's photographs say it all I guess (that is what I meant). It is a beautiful camera, simply beautiful.

So beautiful I picked up 2 of em in a week! I am selling off one of em but I think there might be a pending sale going on at the moment. I really enjoyed photographing the fine lines of the P.
