why i am upset with leica and not m8

It's been so disappointing, since the camera itself handled so great and solid 🙁 Not even so much the flaw part, but Leica luring the customers into buying the product imperfect at best.

If all imperfect products indeed performed like this, it would be a far better world....

What?

What?

I don't know if one call it a design flaw if a camera can record more colours than the eye can see... One could argue that the human eye is flawed.

Jaapv,
I believe that you are talking out of your head!

You know; this is not a musical instrutment that produces the "tones" that we can't hear but can only feel!

M8 produces incorrect color. Do Leica want to re-write a Physical law of what a "Visible Spectrum" is??

If Leica wants to challenge how human see; give me twice the dynamic range!

You have taken this a little too far to say that even our own perceptions need to be reconsidered.

it is very clear that leica knew about these issues yet did nothing to inform us before buying the m8. and suprised all with the issues.

it seems the fix will be 200usd a pop for coding and a filter.😡

Using your formula, that means the "cure" will "only" cost me an ADDITIONAL $1200 due to having several Leica lenses with their various filter diameters.

See why I call this STUPID?

😀 Do you really want me to take my tongue out of my cheek?

Just guessing here, but Leica caught major flack a few years back when they delayed the release of the digital back for the R9 and R8. I recall the internet buzz being nothing but negative. I suspect this time they made a commitment to a certain release date and stuck to it. Hindsight being 20:20, keeping to this November deadline was a mistake.

I do hope Leica survives this. I'm still a dedicated film user but I also see the benefit of a digital camera, especially a rangefinder. I'd love to own an M8 someday, once the bugs ae worked out.

LOL, I'm afraid you have given the definitive reply to the issue of "purple being the new black". Well done.
