This is by far the most enjoyable, international community of camera geeks and photography nuts I've ever had the pleasure to read! 😀

Everyone is friendly, helpful, supportive and share such wonderful insights into the world of photography in general.

THANK YOU ALL!!

And, of course, we can't forget Jorge, without whom this forum could not exist!

Thank you!!

I would like to echo these feelings, but I'm afraid the people here are sick of me saying them over and over and over. Seriously, I agree 110%, as far as on-line forums go, this place is truly the rose among the thorns! 🙂

And, a key word you said was "international", it's really interesting to have the participation of people all over the world here! 🙂

Everyone is friendly, helpful, supportive and share such wonderful insights into the world of photography in general.

My only regret is that I can't be more helpful in solving problems, since the group here has been so helpful (and patient) in helping to solve mine. 🙂

I feel like I should offer an apology here. I joined two battles this week here on the forum, both times over political issues. I tried to keep it civil, and hope that I did. Maybe the best way to deal with unreasonable individuals online is to let them get bored with themselves. In that process they will likely reveal how boorish they really are.

I feel the same way and would like to thank the members who have answered my questions time and time again, even if the have seemed assinine, obvious, or repetitive. Your understanding has been great.

I would also like to mention how great it is to buy something online, through an unsecure forum, and feel wonderfully confident every time that I am getting great value for my money from very honest people.

Better a geek than a nerd...

Now, what was the difference again? 😉

how about: one forum, under jo(e)s! ?

Hey, possibly srupid question here ...

I met (well, on line that is) Jorge right after I joined and needed some help getting my account straight, but I really wasn't aware {blush} about Joe until recently.

The bigshots here seem to keep a low profile (and that's a compliment, guys) and really aren't that obvious.

My question is, are there any other people here of such status that we should know about, and thank, of course?

Geek is slang for an intelligent but socially inept person

A nerd is very similar to a geek, but with more RAM and a faster modem. Nerds often find geeks dull because geeks don't spend enough time talking about computers.

🙂 🙂

Not to show my real age, but when I was growing up, "geek" referred to a performer in a freak show who would do very gross stuff to make you go "EEEeeewwwwwww" and "nerd" (or as we spelled it back then, "nurd") referred to a socially inept person who may or may not be bright. That's the way I first learned them.

This, of course, was when "gay" meant happy and vivacious and "computer" was an accountant's assitant who did the grunt-work of doing the math. 🙂

You only have to worry about Joe and Jorge. They are pretty low key, but don't let that fool you. One time I reported myself to Joe for fear of catching his wrath.

I think I like this forum for the way that no one is really judged one way or another. Some own Leica, some Canon, some are computer gurus, some get by (me included), some are professionals, some first timers, some develop their own negs, some use 1 hour labs. No one is really made to feel uncomfortable, whether they have been doing this for a long time or just starting out. Just want to say, "Bravo guys and gals, let's keep up the good work and friendly atmosphere." Anyhooo, just my two cents woth. Take care and good shooting, Curt.
